GOLF TIP: Correcting arm position for a proper swing

Here is a little tip on how to be sure that your arms are in the correct position during your swing: For a right-handed golfer, the left arm should be straight at waist high on the backswing and the right arm should be straight at waist high on the forward swing. With a practice swing, check the position of the left arm going back and the right arm swinging forward. Now, "straight" doesn't mean "stiff." If you tense up the arms too much you will impede a smooth motion that is required for a good golf swing.Mack McCarley is the PGA Professional at the Antelope Hills Golf Courses and a member of the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame.
