The Teen Dance at Cordes Lakes this past weekend had a small but friendly crowd. The decorations were glow-in-the-dark and brought to life with the black lights. The DJ kept the music constant, and loud, just the way the teens wanted it.

Several contests took place, with prizes for the winners.

Paige Phillips won the first dance contest and her prize was a $10 gift certificate to the 50's Backseat Dinner. Denny Epperson took first place in the next dance contest. His fancy footwork won him a free breakfast.

Natasha Collins was emcee and kept things rolling throughout the night. Adult supervision was minimal and unobtrusive, so the teens could have fun whether dancing, talking or texting.

This is the first teen dance held at the Center in several years, and planners hope to host more such events for local youth.
