Letter: Garden tour a blooming success
Alta Vista Garden Club presented its biennial garden tour on June 9. Ticket holders enjoyed visiting six wonderful private gardens located within Prescott's varied landscapes. Proceeds from this event benefit the club's local education, conservation and beautification projects.
We couldn't have had such a successful event without the help of many folks from the community. We'd like to thank Bella Home Furnishings, Jay's Bird Barn, Mortimer Nursery, Prescott Valley Nursery, and Watters Garden Center for selling tickets to the tour. Sharlot Hall Museum was gracious in allowing us to start the tour in their beautiful garden. Local artists and musicians contributed to the ambiance of the tour as they painted or played music in the gardens. We'd like to thank artists: Max Borjon, Alice Gunter, Maurine Haeberlin, Judy Lewis, Evelyn and Dave Margheim, Chuck Poulson, Gabriel Riegner, Nancy Sancho, Sally Sanders and Sharon Watts for adding to the beauty of the gardens.
Finally, we'd like to thank all of the gardeners on the tour who allowed 700 visitors to walk through their gardens!
