Shootout on Whiskey Row is today, Sunday

The Prescott Regulators and Their Shady Ladies are getting their firearms out and their period attire ready for their annual Shootout on Whiskey Row today and Sunday.

The big Old West extravaganza begins at 9 a.m. each day and ends at 5 p.m., with Dr. Buck and his award-winning Wild West Stunt Team entertaining at the conclusion of today's events.

All the fun takes place in the area of Montezuma and Goodwin streets, including an interactive children's area, steer roping and photo opportunities with the Horses with Heart nonprofit organization that helps disabled people learn horse-riding skills.

Vendors, displays and musical presentations are also on tap, along with re-enactment competitions between groups from around the state.

An 1880s costume contest will be presented at 11:30 a.m. today.
