July 17 event features ice cream and 'upcycled' art

PRESCOTT - The Prescott Creeks organization and Blue Bell Creameries are teaming up for an event at Prescott's Granite Creek Park from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a news release from Prescott Creeks, the event will feature free ice cream and will showcase "upcycled art."

Prescott Creeks, which conducts a "One Man's Treasure" contest during the annual Granite Creek Cleanup, defines upcycled art as creations inspired from waste - showing that "one man's trash is another's treasure."

"Enjoy celebrating National Ice Cream Month while learning more about the area's creeks and riparian habitat, and how upcycled art can help the creeks," states the news release from Prescott Creeks.

The event will take place in the large ramada at Granite Creek Park, the use of which the City of Prescott is donating. The park is located at 554 N. Sixth Street.
