Bob and Lola Knudson, longtime residents of Prescott Valley, Ariz., recently celebrated with friends and family their 60th wedding anniversary. They met in Minneapolis, Minn., singing in a gospel group at Powderhorn Baptist Church, while Bob attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Lola worked as a nurse aide at a local hospital. They were married May 24, 1952. They moved to Arizona in 1957 for a warmer climate, and lived and raised their two daughters across the state in Phoenix, Jerome, Sedona and Williams, eventually settling in Prescott Valley.
Creative people by nature, Bob and Lola have shared a quiet life together, he as an artist painting landscapes in pastel, watercolor and acrylic, she writing several books, often sketching and writing while exploring or camping in the southwest, which inspires them in their work. Lola's first book, "The Magnetic Connection," was published this past spring. Bob's work is on display at The Frame & I Gallery in Prescott.
