Obituary: Louise E. Van Camp

Louise E. Van Camp, 79, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away peacefully, with her daughter at her side on Feb. 22, 2012, at Good Samaritan Villages of Prescott. Louise was born May 22, 1932, the daughter of Arnold and Bessie (Adamson) Larson of Michigan, N.D.

She graduated from Michigan High School in 1950 and received her teaching degree from Mayville State Teacher's College in 1952, where she met the love of her life, James Van Camp. She and James were married June 30, 1952, in Whitman, N.D. Louise taught in a one-room country school in Walsh County of North Dakota and later served as the Deputy County Auditor in Grafton, N.D. James and Louise moved to Grand Forks, N.D., in 1963 and Louise worked there as an administrative secretary for North Western Bell, personnel manager at Sears, real estate agent and finally business owner and operator until she retired in 1985. She and James then moved to Mentor, Minn. (Maple Lake), where they resided until James passed away in 2003. Louise then moved to Prescott, Ariz., where her daughter resides.

Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Susan Blue (Joe Knochel) of Prescott, Ariz.; grandchildren Holly (Tim) Beaton of Forest River, N.D., Laura (Matt) Krause of Burnsville, Minn., Katie (Sean) Utz of Tarawa Terrace, N.C., Jenny Blue of Lake Elmo, Minn., and Jared Blue of Lake Elmo, Minn. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Dylan Beaton, Ellie Beaton, Landon Krause, Parker Krause and Katelyn Utz. Surviving siblings are Beatrice Mack of Grand Forks, N.D., and Newport Beach, Calif., Linda Larson of Chula Vista, Calif., Duane Larson of Whitehall, Mont., Ken Larson of Chula Vista, Greg Larson of Vaughn, Mont., and Gust Larson of Wasilla, Alaska.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband, James Van Camp Sr., son James Van Camp Jr., her parents, brothers Lloyd Larson and Arnold Larson Jr., and sisters Marsha Larson, Lorraine Mootz and Marlys Love.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Grand Forks, N.D., with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery, also in Grand Forks.

Sunrise Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
