Obituary: William Ramos Salazar Sr.

William Ramos Salazar Sr., 92, of Prescott, died Feb. 18, 2012, in Prescott. He was born in Tyrone, N.M., on May 9, 1919.

William served as past commander of Ernest A. Love, Post #6 and was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was a long-term employee of Iron King Mine and Magma Copper, as a bookkeeper and office manager.

Survivors include his three sons William Salazar Jr., David Salazar and Joseph R. Salazar; daughter Erlinda Kramer; and four surviving sisters Mary Vega, Esther Sanchez, Ercilia Frias and Carolina Marquez; and grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. He was uncle and friend to many.

Visitation with Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave., Prescott. Funeral Mass will be 11:15 a.m. with burial at 12:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery along side his wife, Josephine Arvizo Salazar.
