The Central Arizona Young Marines raised the money to buy the toys with proceeds from their 2011 fundraising raffle which also helped pay for 28 new pairs of boots for some Young Marines, 13 new camping tents, new rifles for the drill competition, a donation of $1,100 to the Semper Fi Fund, Stephens said.

"The Young Marines will shop and help sort the toys that go to children, because who can decide what a 12-year-old boy would like better than a 12-year-old boy?" Stephens said.

The Central Arizona Young Marines is an organization of boys and girls from 8 to 18 years old and focuses on a drug-, alcohol- and tobacco-free lifestyle and instills leadership, teamwork and discipline as well as a respect for the U.S. and those who serve in the armed forces, Stephens said.

The Central Arizona Young Marines will begin selling raffle tickets soon to help fund their appearance at the presidential inaugural parade in Washington D.C., next January, Stephens said.
