Letter: Local hotel makes reunion a welcome one
When businesses are often criticized for a lack of customer service, might I take a moment to tell you about the staff at The Hassayampa Inn's Peacock Room.
My husband has brain cancer and is severely limited, and when his Vietnam buddies from the 3/17th Air Cavalry, flew from all over the country to see him, they had heard about, and wanted to visit, The Hassayampa Inn. A lunch was suggested and when I called ahead, I didn't know the restaurant was about to close for dinner prep and cleaning. That made no difference to The Hassayampa team; when they learned we were a Vietnam veterans' reunion, they immediately re-opened the restaurant for the 11 of us.
The food and service were excellent, and I would highly recommend everyone forgo fast food once in a while and give The Hassayampa's Peacock Room a try. We thank them all for making the 3/17th Air Cavs reunion lunch so much fun.
