The Prescott Police Department's traffic safety section and Prescott Valley police cited 57 drivers for speeding during an enforcement detail along Highway 69 on Monday, Jan. 30.
Five officers stopped drivers for speeding and aggressive driving violations during this five-hour detail funded by a grant through the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, said Prescott Police Sgt. Corey Kasun with the traffic safety section.
Of the 58 traffic stops, officers issued 57 speeding citations, cited nine drivers for other non-moving violations, and arrested one man on suspicion of DUI and driving on a suspended license, Kasun said.
A 21-year-old Prescott man was arrested on charges of DUI drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for speed and showed signs of impairment.
