Highlands Center's Nature Nuts program starts in February

The Highlands Center for Natural History is now accepting registration for its unique Nature Nuts program.

This F.U.N. (Friends Understanding Nature) nature club leads children outdoors to make their own discoveries of the fascinating and fun world of nature.

The program takes place at the Highlands Center, which is located at 1375 S. Walker Road, two miles south of Highway 69 in Prescott.

Nature Nuts is for children 6-12 years of age. Children spend time on the Prescott National Forest from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. developing their awareness of the natural world through exploration and discovery, art, journaling, and hands-on nature activities.

The Nature Nuts Club begins Saturday, Feb. 11, and continues every Saturday in February, then on March 3 and 10. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members for all five classes combined.

More information is on the center's website at highlandscenter.org, or call 776-9550. Scholarships are available.
