Obituary: James (Jim) Gibbons

James (Jim) Gibbons, 72, was born Oct. 8, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wis., and died at home in Prescott Valley, Ariz., on Dec. 24, 2012, with his wife at his side.

A graduate of Marquette University, Jim was the youngest of two sons of Harold and Edna (Steffan) Gibbons. Jim married the love of his life, Judith (Judy) Krussel, in 1966, a marriage that lasted 46 years. Jim and Judy lived in several states raising three children. They finally settled in Arizona in 1988.

Jim enjoyed fishing and Notre Dame and Green Bay Packer football. He was a volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. He was loved by his family and will be missed very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy; son Brian (Dawn) Gibbons of Seoul, Korea; daughters Kelly (Marc) Moncilovich of El Mirage, Ariz., and Amy (Kati Babinec) Gibbons of Portland, Ore.; grandsons Ian and Milan Moncilovich; and brother Dennis Gibbons of Homossassa, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Vincent de Paul of Prescott Valley.

A funeral mass will be at St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley, Ariz., on Jan. 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m.

Chino Valley Funeral Home provided cremation services.
