Robert Russell Bennett's "The Many Moods of Christmas," one of the most revered collections of holiday music, will celebrate the yule season in a concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center.
The performance will include the Prescott POPS Symphony, the Prescott POPS Festival Chorus and guest conductor Darrell Rowader.
During the symphony, Prescott POPS will give away $20,000 to area music departments, Paul Manz, music director, said.
"This is a spectacular event for large orchestra and a big choir," Manz said of Friday's concert. "'The Many Moods'" is a collection of four suites, each with about four or five holiday favorites. When the POPS performed this several years ago, it sold out quicker than any other concert before or since. This is one of the most beloved oratorios in the holiday repertoire."
Tickets are $24 for adults, $5 for youth and are available by logging onto www.prescottsymphony.com or calling 776-2000. The concert will take place on the college's Prescott campus, 1100 E. Sheldon St.
