Phippen Museum of Western Art, 4701 Highway 89 North, 778-1385, www.phippenartmuseum.org. "Through Navajo Eyes," showcasing Navajo baskets and pottery from the 1900s through the 1950s, will be on exhibit through Feb. 7. The public is welcome to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec 13, to introduce the museum's expansion that includes the Kiwanis Classroom, a multi-purpose classroom, the Pearl Room, a Western research library and boardroom, a newly installed elevator and additional gallery space. Admission will be free from 1 to 4 p.m. that day.

The Smoki Museum of American Indian Art and Culture, 147 N. Arizona Ave., 445-1230. "Yoimasa, the Art of Fil Kewanyama," on exhibit through the end of the year. Like many Indian artists, Fil brings his cultural heritage to life in his paintings, many of which will be for sale during the show.

Lou Burrell as "Mr. Tenderness" will be in the gallery for Acker Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight singing songs made famous by the likes of Perry Como and Nat King Cole.
