YCSO searching for man accused of child sex crimes spanning decades
PRESCOTT - The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office has instituted an all-out manhunt for Eric George McNeill, who is accused of numerous sex offenses against children between 4 and 17 years old.
McNeill, 64, is believed to have committed sex offenses as far back as 1972 and as recently as September 2011, said Dwight D'Evelyn, YCSO spokesman, "but there was some delayed reporting from some of the victims, and it took some time to put this case together" and have a judge issue an arrest warrant.
D'Evelyn said that, after the latest offense was reported, McNeill may have fled to Washington state, where investigators think McNeill may be trying
to join a motorcycle club.
"The (alleged) acts against these children are horrendous and deplorable," D'Evelyn said. "Our detectives have made this the highest priority and we would like to find this man as soon as possible."
D'Evelyn said the crimes "involve children that are known to the offender. He's a very, very dangerous man when it comes to kids."
There is a nationwide no-bond arrest warrant for McNeill, D'Evelyn said.
YCSO believes there are additional victims who have not yet come forward, and that there could be victims in Washington as well.
The agency is asking for help from anyone who may know where to find McNeill. Call Detective Ross Diskin at 928-777-7348 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 800-932-3232. Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward if an arrest is made.
