3 face charges after allegedly sexually assaulting intoxicated girl

Prescott Valley police booked a man into the Yavapai County jail and two teenagers into the juvenile detention center, all on charges of sexual assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Prescott Valley police and emergency personnel answered a call about an intoxicated teenage girl Tuesday evening and spoke with the father of the girl, who said he came home and found his daughter unresponsive, Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney said.

Life Line Ambulance took the teenage girl to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center, where she made statements about possibly being sexually assaulted at the home, Bonney said.

Investigators learned the teenage girl was at her home with a 15-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl and Roberts A. Duff, 19, of Dewey.

The four were reportedly consuming alcohol, and the unconscious teenage girl may have also used prescription pills that were not prescribed to her, Bonney said.

At one point, the teenage girl was allegedly passing in and out of consciousness, and the 15-year-old boy and girl reportedly had sexual intercourse with her while she was in this state, Bonney said. Afterward, Duff reportedly had sexual intercourse with her, Bonney said.

All suspects were detained and interviewed on Wednesday. The female suspect denied any involvement in the offense, but did reportedly make incriminating statements to the victim about her involvement, and the 15-year-old boy told police he had intercourse with the girl, but said it was consensual, Bonney said.

Duff initially told investigators he had sex with the victim with her consent, but said she appeared very intoxicated and likely could not consent, Bonney said.
