Beloved husband and father, Jack Black, of Dewey, Ariz. passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2012. He was born in 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jack was a Navy pilot during WWII and flew Black Cats in the Pacific. He met Phyllis Means working at North American Aviation in 1949, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. After the war, they settled in Palos Verdes, Calif. where he was General Manager of U.S. Battery Co. There they raised their son Jeff, and Jack was active in coaching Little League. They moved to the Prescott area 25 years ago.

Jack enjoyed fishing, golf and woodworking, and was a member of Prescott Golf and Country Club. He loved people and was always ready to help anyone in need.

Jack is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son Jeff; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends. He will be missed.
