On July 26, police arrested Chino Valley resident Andrew P. Schaffer, 50, after an investigation revealed he was in possession of child pornography, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Cmdr. Mark Garcia of the Chino Valley Police Department.

Detectives were following a tip received by a computer repair company employee who was working on a computer belonging to Schaffer. During the repair, the technician observed what he believed to be photos of young children in sexually explicit poses.

The CVPD obtained and executed a search warrant and seized the computer. Detectives confirmed the computer contained at least 10 pornographic images of young children.

Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found during a subsequent search of Schaffer's home.

Schaffer was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, each count a class 2 felony, according to Garcia.

Schaffer was also charged with one count of possession of marijuana, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
