Obituary: Oma Ruth Tarpley
Oma Ruth Tarpley, 94, died peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Meadow Park Adult Care Center in Prescott, Ariz. Oma Ruth was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Gracemont, Okla. She came to Arizona in 1939.
Survivors include her sons, Larry (Bert) of Buckeye, Ariz., and Hal (Julie) of Chino Valley, Ariz.; her brother Carl (Mary) Heath of Mesa, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; some great-greats and many more family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, V.J. "Bill" Tarpley; her parents Johnnie Grady and Luetta "Etta" Heath; brothers, Harvard and Woody Heath; sister, Adell Pace; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luke and Sarah Tarpley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale, Ariz. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at the same location with her brother Carl Heath assisting. Following the service, a reception will take place at Sand Pedregal Apartments' Club House, 16601 N 12th St., Phoenix, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a memorial donation to Arizona Heart Foundation, 1910 E Thomas Road, Ste 220, Phoenix, AZ 85016 or American Lung Association in Arizona, 102 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
