If you like to go riding on old mining and ranch roads or trails through the foothills of the upper Sonora Desert, then the Southern Yavapai County Sheriff's Response Team (SYCSRT), for Search and Rescue, is looking for you.

SYCSRT needs more members with quads, side-by-sides, and four-wheel-drive vehicles to cover its territory, which stretches from east of Black Canyon City, north to the Weaver and Bradshaw Mountains, south and west to the Yavapai County line.

New members will receive training in GPS, CPR/first aid, radio communications, backcountry survival techniques, rough-terrain ATV certification, and more.

Requirements include good health, a clean background check and a willingness to help others.

SYCSRT meets the second Thursday of each month at the LifeLine Ambulance building, 1155 N. Tegner, in Wickenburg. For information, call (928) 231-2569 or go to sycsrt.org.
