Predawn burglar swipes TVs in Prescott

Prescott police seek the suspect who stole more than $2,000 worth of flat-screen televisions from the Walmart on Gail Gardner Way by tampering with the metal security door at the store at about 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 25.

When the officer arrived, an assistant manager told him that a man stole four flat-screen televisions after disabling the northeast security door, and loaded them into an older model, dark-colored passenger car parked between the store and its tire center, according to the police report.

The manager said the doors are alarmed, and seemed surprised that none of the employees heard the alarm going off.

Officers found a tool left behind by the suspect and put it into evidence, and learned from a manager that the suspect stole one 40-inch Philips LCD HD TV, two 42-inch Vizio E Scenes LCD HD TVs, and a 42-inch Vizio LCD HD flat-screen from the electronics area, according to the police report.

Surveillance video showed a stocky man with a buzz or balding type haircut, a goatee or short beard, wearing a black ball cap, long-sleeved light color shirt with a design on the front, dark-colored knee-length shorts and black high tops, pushing a shopping cart with two TVs out the door, coming back and taking another shopping cart with two TVs out the door again.
