Continuing Williamson Valley Road work will cause traffic impacts
PRESCOTT - Work continues on the City of Prescott's Williamson Valley Road widening project, leading to a number of traffic impacts, including:
Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. - one lane will remain open along Williamson Valley Road as milling operations occur. Drivers may experience delays associated with the work, and should be aware of narrow lanes, reduced speeds, and flagging operations, according to a news release from the city.
Crews have cut trenches and installed storm drains along the southern portion of Williamson Valley Road. They will continue trenching and excavation activities in the roadway throughout the week to complete storm drain installations.
On Monday through Friday, flaggers will be on site to aid crews as they trench across the across the road. One lane will remain open along Williamson Valley Road as trenching occurs, but motorists may experience delays of as long as 10 minutes.
Crews will continue to excavate and backfill shoulders to set the new road grade adjacent to the existing roadway throughout the week. In addition, crews will begin forming and pouring footings for new retaining walls. The work will occur throughout the project area from Shadow Valley Ranch Road to Sidewinders Road.
On Monday through Friday, motorists should be aware of narrow lanes, reduced speeds, and flagging operations. There may be debris on the road, as well as possible delays associated with the work. The city is cautioning drivers to be aware of workers and construction equipment.
