Local mountain bikers plan weekend 'Wonderschlautt' event

PRESCOTT - A three-day festival celebrating mountain biking will take place this weekend, centered at Park Plaza Liquor and Deli.

The "Wonderschlautt" - an event that organizers say is "for mountain bikers, put on by mountain bikers with mountain biking in mind" - will include activities such as a beer garden, rides for various skill levels, kids' bike rides, cycling-oriented games, and a bike toss.

The festival will kick off at 4 p.m. Friday, at the Park Plaza Liquor and Deli, 402 W. Goodwin St., with a beer garden serving brats, German beer, and other food, and will include evening bike rides at Thumb Butte and the Peavine Trail.

On Saturday, the day will begin at 7 a.m., with an Epic ride, and will continue with a variety of other rides and activities throughout the day. The beer garden will reopen at 11 a.m.

Sunday's activities will include 9 a.m. rides and a "Wonderschlautt Wind Down" at 2 p.m.
