News Briefs: MATFORCE youth art contest
MATFORCE invites area youth to participate in an art contest with the message "Say No to Underage Drinking." Yavapai County youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to participate in the contest.
Art pieces are limited in size to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" as the winning entries will be used as pizza box toppers. Area pizza stores will attach the flyer to the top of their pizza boxes helping spread an anti-underage drinking message to parents and youth.
Art contestants can choose from three Say No the Underage Drinking themes: "Draw the Line," "Zero Nada None," or "Talk Early, Talk Often."
A $100 Target gift card will be awarded for the winner in each of four age categories. The winning designs will be used on other MATFORCE promotional materials as well.
Officer James Tobin of the Prescott Valley Police Department and Chair of the MATFORCE Underage Drinking Task Force said, "Thousands of MATFORCE pizza box toppers have gone out over the past years. This is the first year we have asked youth to help design the flyer and MATFORCE is very excited to have the voice of youth speaking out against underage drinking through this contest."
