United Animal Friends 'Star of the Week' - Silky

Silky got his name because of his beautiful silky black fur. He wants to know everything that is going on and find the best possible place to get a clear view of everyone and everything.

This charming guy keeps close tabs on his foster mom - whether he's sitting or napping next to her on the sofa, leaning against her legs, or following her into the kitchen at mealtime. Any attention he receives results in lots and lots of purring, and a little bit of talking, too. He doesn't do much lap-sitting because he weighs about 15 pounds ...all fluffy, of course!

Silky is currently living with other cats and gets along with all of them except one. He cleverly has learned to stay out of his way. He would love a home with one other younger cat or where he is the only cat. He's playful, and likes to run and chase jingle balls in the bathtub.

Silky, a domestic shorthair, was born Sept. 18, 2008. He's neutered, is up to date on shots, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. As this week's "Star," Silky's adoption fee to an approved home is $10. The fee includes neuter and necessary vaccinations.

For more information about this wonderful "Star", contact Allie at 632-5144 or allie.cat42@yahoo.com, or visit Silky this Sunday at Kitty City in the Prescott Petco. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

UAF is in need of foster homes and volunteers for its many programs. Interested animal lovers should contact UAF volunteer coordinator Jann at 759-3848 or jannkpamperspets@yahoo.com.

Donations for UAF's foster program can be sent to United Animal Friends, PO Box 11133, Prescott, AZ 86304, or can be made online at UnitedAnimalFriends.org. Donations go toward spaying/neutering, medical care, and food for fostered pets, as well as other UAF programs.
