Carol Taylor, 70, of Prescott Ariz., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2011, with family by her side.

She was preceded by her husband, Robert Taylor. She is survived by her two children, Chris Taylor (Linda Berkley) and Kimberly Taylor Hill (John Hill), and two grandchildren.

She was born in Monticello, Ind., on Dec. 9, 1940, to Walter and Mildred Cowger.

Carol attended Roosevelt High School in Monticello, Ind., and received her degree from Methodist School of Nursing. She married Robert Taylor in 1963 and moved to California where she practiced nursing until her retirement in 1987, when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She and Robert took an early retirement and moved to Prescott in 1994 to enjoy the high life.

Carol battled her disease for 25 year but remained positive and an inspiration to all. She touched many lives on her journey and was well-loved.

A viewing will be Wednesday evening, March 9, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. Prescott. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at American Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott. Burial will be later that afternoon at Heritage Memorial Park, 12000 Heritage Memorial Lane, Dewey. Carol asked that donations be made in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.
