Local Roundup: Prescott 9-10 All-Stars remain undefeated

The Prescott 9-10 age group Little League Baseball All-Stars topped Camp Verde 17-1 in the District 10 tourney's second round in Chino Valley on Saturday to remain unbeaten.

Prescott will face Verde Valley, 17-0 winners over Wickenburg, on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Verder Valley is also undefeated.

In other tourney action, Prescott Valley eliminated Chino Valley with a 10-7 win.

Prescott Valley will now face Camp Verde on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Williams will play Wickenburg on Monday at 5 p.m.

The winner of each game will face off on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Beat the Heat Softball Tournament

The 47-team tournament kicked off action in Prescott on Saturday.

Among local teams, the Prescott Lady Hawks' 12-and-under team lost 5-0 to Insanity at Heritage Park, then 8-5 to Tucson Impulse 99 later in the day.

The Lady Hawks' 14U team lost 15-0 to Team Velocity 97, then 13-1 to East Valley Pride at Pioneer Park.

The Lady Hawks' 16U team fell 7-6 to Insanity at Pioneer Park, then lost 14-13 to the Kingman Sidewinders.

The Lady Hawks' 18U team lost 8-3 to the QC Ladycats at Pioneer Park, then fell to the Sidewinders 8-5.

Prescott Valley's AZ Sparkle 18U team lost 15-0 to Scottsdale Fever Stoffey, then fell to the Arizona Outlaws 12-0.

Tournament action resumes today at both parks at 8 a.m.

Championship games for each age group are scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
