Donald Dean Myers

Donald Dean Myers, 80, died on June 17, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. at his summer home, Forest Trails, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born in Lawrence, Kan., Jan. 11, 1931, to Elmer and Lucille Madden Myers.

He attended North Phoenix High School (1948), Phoenix College (1950) and University of Arizona (1948) after service in the Air Force at Luke Field. He was an MAI appraiser with Coldwell Banker for 20 years and later developed Lookout Mountain in Phoenix and Forest Trails in Prescott.

Survived by wife Joan, married July 4, 1951; five children, Jeff (Pam), Heather Craig, Eric (Sean), Dean and Brooke Wilson (David); 15 grandchildren; seven greats; sister Sherry Patterson; brother-in-law Frank Kleinman Jr.; many dear nieces and nephews; and Daphne and Oreo, beloved dogs.

He was a past President of Arizona Young Republicans, Valley Forward and Phoenix Art Museum Men's Council; a member of Rover Boys, Red Creek Raiders, Valley Field Riding and Polo Club, Iron Springs Outing Club, Costco, Fry's and Wal-Mart clubs. Don's quirky sense of humor will be missed by most. His love for travel and his curiosity kept him interested and busy.

Family services will be in the fall.
