Applications available to fill Linn's vacancy on Prescott Council
PRESCOTT - The City of Prescott is inviting citizens interested in filling Councilwoman Tammy Linn's post on the City Council to submit applications by July 1.
On Monday, Linn announced that she was resigning from the council, effective July 14.
According to the city charter, the Prescott City Council must appoint a replacement within 31 days of Linn's departure. The interim council member would likely serve until November, when voters may choose a more permanent candidate to serve the remaining two years of Linn's term.
Applications are available at Prescott City Hall, 201 S. Cortez St., or may be downloaded from: cityofprescott.net/leadership/elections/. The applications must be received at the Prescott City Clerk's office by 5 p.m. Friday, July 1.
The council has yet to take formal action on the special election in November. More discussion on that will take place at the council's meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a city news release, questions should be directed to City Clerk Elizabeth Burke, 777-1272.
