Antique auto club takes over Watson Lake Aug. 6-7
The 37th annual Prescott Antique Auto Club Car Exhibit, Old Engine Fire-up and Parts Exchange is set for this Saturday and Sunday at Watson Lake Park off Highway 89 and Willow Lake Road in Prescott.
Gates open at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday for show cars with model years of 1986 and older.
Each show vehicle that enters on Saturday must pay a $25 entry fee. There is no pre-registration, but the first 200 show cars to arrive Saturday receive a T-shirt, dash plaque and goodie bag.
Those cars that come on Sunday pay a $5 entry fee. However, they will not get a T-shirt, dash plaque or goodie bag.
Trophies for the finest cars will be presented on Saturday and Sunday at the park.
Spectators pay a $5 donation per car for general parking on the park's grounds. Vintage motorcycles, motor scooters, Whizzers and tractors are welcome.
As for the parts exchange, it also does not require pre-registration, but it is limited to 120 spaces. Cost per space for the weekend is $50 and $25 per additional space. Each 30-foot by 20-foot space is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Set up for the exchange takes place this Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Vendors are allowed to camp overnight on their exchange spaces. Toy and automotive memorabilia vendors are welcome to participate.
The show's cars-for-sale area asks $15 per vehicle to park for the weekend or any part of the weekend. This spot opens at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Setup from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday costs $5 extra. All vehicles must leave Watson Lake Park by 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
The old engine fire-up area will display old engines, tractors, novelty equipment and vehicles. Setup begins Friday afternoon, with spots available on a first come, first serve basis.
This year's show will also offer special items for women, including scoop neck T-shirts for sale, pink tickets and raffle prizes.
