UPDATE - July 21, noon: CHINO VALLEY- Jeffery Bratz, 57, who was reported missing after last having been seen on Saturday, was found dead Thursday near Road 4 South, east of Highway 89.

Bratz left his cell phones and wallet, which friends said was unusual for him.

Chino Valley police checked his home and property on Tuesday, when he was reported missing, but they were unable to locate him at the time.

A search by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team located his body on vacant land with high weeds near his home, police said. Bratz had medical problems, but it is unclear if they contributed to his death.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The Yavapai County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Original article - July 20: CHINO VALLEY - Police are searching for a missing man who was last seen on Saturday.

Police said Jeffery Bratz, 57, lives at a home on east Road 4 South in Chino Valley, and has medical issues.

Police do not know if Bratz walked away or drove. He left behind his cellphones and wallet, which friends said was unusual for him.

Bratz is 5-foot-10, weighs about 175 pounds, has brown hair, brown eyes and a beard.

This man should not be confused with Terry Ferrell, who went missing from the Coyote Springs area July 4 after walking away from his home, and has yet to be located.
