County school superintendent seeks applicants to fill CVUSD board vacancy
Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Chino Valley Unified School District Governing Board. The opening was created by the death of veteran governing board member Bob Kaecker.
"Mr. Kaecker was a pleasure to work with and always kept the best interest of students in the forefront of his thinking," Carter said. "His dedication to the district was obvious to all who knew him. He will be sincerely missed."

Applicants should include information about themselves, why they want to serve as a board member, their residence and mailing addresses, and home/work phone numbers. Candidates may include letters of recommendation or support if they wish.
To be eligible to hold this seat, a person must be a registered voter, a citizen of the United States, and at least 18 years of age. They must possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse cannot be employed by the district.
The deadline for submitting letters of interest is 5 p.m. Aug. 17. Carter will interview candidates at the Chino Valley Unified School District Office on Aug. 22, with an appointment Aug. 23. The new governing board member will serve through Dec. 31, 2012.
