Class reunions for 1961, 1976 coming up
Two groups of Prescott High School graduates are planning reunions in coming weeks.
The first, the Class of 1976, plans its reunion Friday, July 22, through Sunday, July 24.
On Friday, classmates will meet for a no-host mixer at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel on Highway 69. A no-host hike will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, with a banquet at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyndham Gardens. The class will have a picnic at noon Sunday at Goldwater Lake.
For more information about the reunion, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Sept. 22, the Prescott High School Alumni Half-Century Club will get together at the Prescott Resort for its annual luncheon, a tradition that began in 1978. Several PHS alumni thought it would be a good idea to meet each year and include those who had graduated 50 years or more before. Thus, the PHS Half-Century Club was born. This year, the Class of 1961 will join the club's ranks.
In addition to reuniting each year, the club awards scholarships to students at PHS. This year, the class of 1959 presented nine $1,000 scholarships to student groups, the largest contribution by any class to date.
PHS graduates of 50 or more years who have not been included on the mailing list should mail their information to Prescott High School Half-Century Club, P.O. Box 534, Prescott, AZ 86301. For more information on the club's Sept. 22 luncheon, call Pat Stotts at 778-4036.
