One person was airlifted with serious injuries to Flagstaff Medical Center after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 69 restricted traffic late Sunday afternoon.
According to Prescott police, one vehicle heading westbound on Highway 69 attempted to turn left into the Costco parking lot and struck another vehicle traveling eastbound, which caused the eastbound-traveling car to roll.
A passenger in the rolled vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to Flagstaff for further treatment. The driver of the vehicle that rolled was transported locally to Yavapai Regional Medical Center. All occupants of the vehicle trying to turn left were treated for minor injuries on scene and released, according to Prescott police.
Investigators say all occupants of both vehicles were restrained, and they do not suspect impairment played a role in the collision.
Traffic was temporarily shut down in both directions as the helicopter landed. Overall, traffic was restricted to one lane in both directions for about 90 minutes.
Investigators were still on scene as late as 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, and it was unclear if either driver had yet been cited.
