Prescott police arrested a man Monday on charges including aggravated assault per domestic violence after he admitted to police that he injured a woman during a fight at the Holiday Inn Express.
An officer booked Jeremy Owen Wheeler, 26, of Prescott Valley into the county jail on charges including aggravated assault per domestic violence, unlawful use of means of transportation, threatening per domestic violence and disorderly conduct per domestic violence.
The woman told police she and Wheeler argued, so she asked Wheeler to leave the hotel, but he threw her to the ground, kicked her, choked her, and later punched her in the stomach, grabbed her chest and left in her car.
Wheeler told police he may have injured the woman's arms during the fight. He nodded in agreement when the officer said he thought Wheeler struck the woman in the stomach and stepped on her leg, according to the police report.
Wheeler wrote a letter of apology to the woman saying "I'm sorry" six times and that he "wants it just between us, not like this please," according to the police report.
