Yavapai Silent Witness rewards seven callers

Yavapai Silent Witness awarded $3,500 in cash rewards during a recent board meeting in Prescott to seven callers whose information led to the arrest of a suspect.

Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking investigated one case and the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office handled the other six cases, said Steve Skurja, program coordinator for Yavapai Silent Witness.

Law enforcement officers arrested 16 suspects in Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Rim Rock and Dewey on 65 felony charges and 10 misdemeanors, including burglary, ID theft, auto theft, probation violations, drug charges and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Skurja said.

Officers seized stolen property valued at $1,400, including four rifles, and $38,695 worth of illegal drugs, including marijuana, oxycodone pills and methamphetamine, Skurja said.
