Put your oars in for Verde River Canoe Challenge

The 11th annual Verde River Canoe Challenge will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26. The 10-mile canoe/kayak race will begin at White Bridge Park (Verde River and Route 260) and end at Beasley Flats Recreation Area. A free shuttle service will be provided between Beasley Flats and White Bridge Park.

The event is sponsored by Salt River Project and co-sponsored by Friends of Coconino County Parks and Northern Arizona University Parks and Recreation Management's special event planning class.

There will be both men's and women's competitive and recreational event categories. First- and second-place winners in each category receive trophies.

Online registration deadline is March 16. The entry fee is $20 per adult and $15 per child. No registrations will be taken on the day of the race.
