David Wilder's "Space Cowboy Rides Again" opens Feb. 24 at Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery. The exhibit is "a unique blend of humor, surrealism and iconic Western imagery exploring a chosen theme of the American West as myth," the artist says. The show will feature several new watercolors by Wilder that further his artistic bent. Working in transparent watercolor, Wilder meticulously renders each detailed image, infusing them with story-book-like reality that serves to soften the pithy truths he often presents, he says. "Humor is the way into the work," he adds, "but I like to think there is a bit more going on than that." An opening celebration will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. during the 4th Friday Art Walk on Feb. 25. Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery is located at 134 S. Montezuma St., Prescott.
