MATForce invites area youths to help raise awareness about substance abuse risks by participating in its annual Youth Poster Contest. Yavapai County youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to participate in the contest by creating a poster that depicts an anti-drug message.

The winner of each age category receives a $25 cash gift card. All entries will receive a participation prize. An overall winner will receive a game system. MATForce's 2011 promotional materials will use the winning poster.

Last year's grand prize poster was drawn by Chelly Fessler, a 13-year-old student from Bradshaw Mountain Middle School in Dewey. The poster, which asks "Would you throw this away for drugs?" was displayed throughout the county and on MATForce educational materials.

For contest guidelines, call Crystal McFarland at the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office at 442-5135 or visit the MATForce website at Contest deadline is April 6.
