The Mayer Elders Club nearly burst at the seams this past Saturday as enthusiastic folks took their chances at the gaming tables during Casino Night.

People filled the Texas Hold 'Em table to capacity and those playing barely took time for a needed break. There were several Black Jack tables, but the people at these tables did rotate a little. Texas Hold 'Em and Black Jack were the most popular, and kept the crowd late into the evening.

Winners used their chips to purchase raffle tickets, which they put into the drawing jar. The more they won, the more tickets they got, and the greater the chance of their winning the big prize.

Raffle prizes included pedicures, hair cuts, small compressors, grills, and the grand prize - dinner for two at the Storyteller Restaurant at Cliff Castle Casino, a prize worth more than $150. Judy Couch won this grand prize.

All proceeds will benefit Mayer Area Meals on Wheels to help provide hot, healthy meals to homebound and seniors from Poland Junction to Cordes Lakes.
