Man, 20, suffers severe injuries in Prescott Valley rollover
A 20-year-old man is believed to be in critical condition after he suffered life-threatening injuries in a rollover crash along the 7800 block of Manley Drive near Verde Vista Drive in Prescott Valley early Saturday morning.
Prescott Valley Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brandon Bonney said the man, who is suspected to have been the driver, and a 19-year-old male passenger were speeding in a 2001 Honda CR-V when the compact SUV rolled several times at about 3:20 a.m.
"Evidence on-scene indicated the vehicle was driven at a high rate of speed eastbound on Manley, just east of Verde Vista," Bonney said late Saturday morning. "The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and it went airborne, rolling several times."
As of press time late Saturday morning, Bonney said the 20-year-old man was presumed to be in critical condition after being ejected from the vehicle. The 19-year-old apparently had non-life-threatening injuries.
Bonney added that paramedics flew the 20-year-old from Yavapai Regional Medical Center's East Campus in PV to a Phoenix-area hospital.
A police report that provided details of the accident stated both passengers were not wearing seatbelts and that alcohol consumption was a factor in the wreck.
An investigation of the crash is continuing, Bonney said.
