Apartments for low- to moderate-income seniors completed: ViewPoint in PV now accepting applications
PRESCOTT VALLEY - The 50-unit ViewPoint Apartments complex is accepting renters who are 62 or older, disabled or both.
WESCAP Investments Inc. of Phoenix recently completed the first phase of the 102-unit apartment complex at 3845 N. Viewpoint Drive. The complex is near the Civic Center and WESCAP's other senior apartment complex, the 118-unit SunGate Villa.
WESCAP received its certificate of occupancy from the Prescott Valley Community Development Department this past week, Community Development Director Richard Parker said. He valued the project at around $5.9 million.
One of the new tenants is Ethel Crawford, who moved with her son and daughter-in-law from Bismarck, N.D. Her son, Robert, relocated to Prescott Valley to accept a transfer from Home Depot.
He moved Ethel into the apartment complex Tuesday. His wife, Debra, works at the WESCAP apartment complex as well.
WESCAP President William Spreitzer has built a number of apartment complexes in Prescott Valley and Prescott for low- to moderate-income seniors and families, and has relied on tax credits from the federal government.
Spreitzer's company also benefited from federal Community Development Block Grant money that the town used for paying to extend Viewpoint Drive from Civic Circle to Long Look Drive to provide additional access.
