Prescott police: Jeep doors susceptible to thefts

This past Thursday, a man told Prescott police that the doors to his Jeep Wrangler were stolen about a month ago from a parking lot in the 100 block of West Goodwin Street. The man said he hadn't reported his doors missing when he first noticed, because he did not want to bother police, according to the police report.

But when he searched online for used Jeep doors on Craigslist.com in the Phoenix area, he found what he thought were the doors to his Jeep spray-painted black, according to the police report.

Prescott police continue to investigate the incident.

Jeep doors are easy to remove, and are probably the most stolen, Prescott Police Lt. Andy Reinhardt cautioned.
