Obituary: William J. Mueller
William J. (Bill) Mueller, 85, completed his journey home Aug. 19, 2011. He was born in Meyer, Iowa to Nicholas and Rachel Mueller. He was the beloved brother of six brothers and four sisters, devoted father to his three daughters, cherished grandfather of three grandsons and one granddaughter, and totally enamored of his four great-grandsons. He was a favorite uncle to his 14 nieces and nephews.
Bill Mueller served honorably for two years in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theatre during WWII. He then embarked on his 45-year career as a renowned chef for which he never lost his passion or imagination.
He is survived by his brothers Paul (Ann) Mueller of Chicago, Ill., Reynold Mueller of Des Moines, Iowa; and sister-in-law Louise Mueller of Irving, Texas; daughters Stephanie (Dean) Bragg from Prescott, Ariz. and Rebecca Roberts of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Larry Fales of Elkhart, Ind. and William Fales of Des Moines, Iowa, Karen (Purnell) John and Christopher (Shea) Bragg, all from Prescott, Ariz.; great-grandsons Blake Fales of Elkhart, Ind., Nickolas Bragg, Cameron and Carter John, all of Prescott, Ariz.
Memorial service will be Sept. 24, 2011, in Meyer, Iowa at the Sacred Heart Oratory, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" II Corinthians 5:8.
