Obituary: Colin C. 'Cinders' MacDiarmid

Colin C. "Cinders" MacDiarmid, 63, of Prescott Valley, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Maricopa Medical Center Arizona Burn Center from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident.

Colin was born May 9, 1948, in Munich, Germany, to Colin H. and Frances V. (Wynkoop) MacDiarmid.

Colin had an eclectic past, to which those that have heard his many stories can attest. Colin played guitar and tenor sax, sang and acted in musicals, competed in rodeo (bull riding), was employed selling everything from cars to boots, volunteered for local rescue squad, taught EMT, worked as a regional marketing manager, enjoyed crafting custom leatherwork, was District Manager of the MMA, loved and rode motorcycles and was a very loving father.

Colin could always be counted on to be there for both family and friends. He was just as good of a listener as he was one to provide a good laugh. Colin was fun, amusing and unique and had a kind soul. He was one-of-a-kind and a very beautiful and special person. And, as stated by Colin's best friend, he was "the nicest, most kind person that I know."

Colin is survived by his identical twin sons, Colin C. MacDiarmid II and Ian D. MacDiarmid.

A memorial service will be Sept. 24, 2011 in Prescott. Details can be found on his website www.macdiarmid.us.
