The Walnut Canyon National Monument will celebrate the beauty of the night sky Saturday with a star party.
Special activities start at 2-4 p.m. with sun viewing through special telescopes, followed by an astronomy presentation at 7:30-8 p.m. and viewing of the night sky through telescopes at 8-10 p.m. Evening events are free.
The monument is located a few miles east of Flagstaff off Interstate 40. Entrance fee is $5 for adults and free for youth 15 and younger. Call the visitor center at 928-526-3367 for updates in case of stormy weather. The monument is online at nps.gov/waca.
