50th anniversary: Jerry and Pat Jackson

Jerry and Pat Jackson will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month. They were married Aug. 26, 1961, in the Bowman Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas. They lived in Snyder and Brownfield, Texas, before moving to Prescott in 1965, where Jerry was employed at the then-Prescott Evening Courier and Pat taught art at Prescott High School and did secretarial work at Prescott College. They relocated to California in 1968, where Jerry was on the editorial staff of the Sacramento Bee and Pat taught school at the elementary level and worked at California State University.

They returned to Prescott in 1996. Jerry rejoined the Courier's editorial staff before retiring in 2005, and Pat has been employed at Yavapai College since their return. They have two children - son Kerry and his children Emma, Fiona and Noah of San Diego, Calif., and daughter Shannon of Prescott.
