Humane Society warns of Parvo/Distemper outbreak

The Yavapai Humane Society (YHS) is warning local pet owners to have their pets vaccinated against deadly diseases. YHS is reporting a serious outbreak of Canine Distemper and Parvovirus in the Phoenix/Maricopa County area.

Both diseases are highly contagious. Distemper is fatal in half the reported cases and the mortality rate of Parvovirus is much higher. There is no known cure for these diseases.

To make sure your pets are safe from fatal diseases such as distemper, parvovirus and other diseases visit your veterinarian or the YHS Wellness Clinic located at 2989 Centerpointe East, in Prescott on any Friday for a first come, first served vaccination clinic. Call 928-771-0547 for more information.
