Prescott Valley council, staff to tour 'tank farm'

PRESCOTT VALLEY - The Town Council and staff plan their second field trip in a month, but the one Thursday evening will be less scenic than the visit to Fain Lake March 3.

The council plans a field trip at its work/study meeting to the "tank farm" north of the Castle Canyon Mesa area, the Glassford Hill Trail and the multiuse path at the StoneRidge subdivision. Participants plan to meet to arrange rides at 5:30 p.m. at the council chambers in the library auditorium, 7401 E. Civic Circle.

The tank farm consists of three tanks that store 5 million gallons of water, Utilities Director Neil Wadsworth said. Nine wells in the older portion of town near the central core of the community supply the tanks.

"The tour is to show them the tank farm location and where a potential solar project may be going, and it is also going to show them a potential trail and multiuse path along that area," Wadsworth said.

Wadsworth was referring to a decision of the council from this past Thursday to approve incentive programs with APS to finance the installation of solar panels on town properties.
